This painting came from a sense of gratitude that felt almost overwhelming at times. Making art while crossing the Atlantic, sharing creative moments with curious and generous people, and being immersed in new places—it all blended into one continuous feeling of appreciation. The contrasting reds, magentas, greens, and mint tones reflect that fullness, without trying to separate one experience from another.
Rather than capturing a single place, this piece gathers moments: conversations, laughter, quiet stretches of painting, and the privilege of being present in such an environment. It’s less a record and more a feeling—one I wanted to hold onto once the journey ended.
