I love how fresh, new blooms of spring and summer seem to appear out of the surrounding greenery, drawing attention to themselves. I love the freshness of new buttercups: the cadmium yellow and young green. They bring me back to my childhood... when we were kids, we said that if you held a buttercup up under someone's chin and it reflected yellow, that would mean that they like butter. Who knew? The simple things.
