I’ve always loved swimming—especially on hot days. From the brown pond of my childhood in Vermont to the vivid underwater worlds of the Caribbean, I’ve found peace in water. Becoming a diver opened up a whole new world to me. Life teems just below the surface, in ways that feel mysterious and familiar at the same time. This painting is about that feeling of floating, and quietly observing all that lives beneath.
