Garden by the Sea is a large-scale diptych that leans into looseness and play. I worked with soft pinks, greens, blues, whites, and greys, letting the colors move freely across the two panels. I wanted the painting to feel lighthearted and intuitive, almost like following a child’s way of seeing — curious, unfiltered, and unburdened.
There’s a gentle back-and-forth between land and water here, structure and spontaneity. The forms aren’t meant to be pinned down. Instead, they invite wandering, small pauses, and a sense of ease. My hope is that this piece brings a quiet kind of happiness into a space — the kind that sneaks up on you and stays.
