Creative escapes: what artists loved about the Costa Rica art retreat with Claire Desjardins

Attendee at one of Claire Desjardins artist retreats, Colors of Costa Rica, creating a painting.

At my art retreats, creativity blossoms, friendships form, and transformative experiences unfold. Every retreat is not just about creating beautiful artwork; it's about rediscovering your passion, connecting with like-minded artists, and immersing yourself in new cultures and landscapes. But don’t just take my word for it—let the stories of past retreat participants speak for themselves!

Here I'm sharing real testimonials from artists who joined us on our journey to beautiful Costa Rica. Their reflections offer a glimpse into the powerful impact these retreats have had on their art, creativity, and personal growth.

Artist Pamela Mayhew paints a painting at Colors of Costa Rica art retreat with Claire Desjardins.
When asked what her favourite part of the week was, artist Pamela Mayhew responded, "I think it was meeting all of the different artists... We came from all over, and I just loved meeting everybody. You put together a wonderful contingency of artists, and we all had something to share, we all got along really well, and we had a lot of fun".

When artist Sandrine Perez was asked about her favorite part of the week, she responded "Meeting everyone. The bond we have now together. I'm sure we will see each other again!"

"The trip was incredibly well organized and offered tremendous value. Absolutely everything was included, from the delicious meals to the art supplies, entrance and guide fees at the reserves, and an unforgettable all-day excursion to the Corcovado National Park. What an amazing week of painting and discovery!"

"Trying different things. Loosening up and being a little more expressive than I tend to be. As the week went on, I got a little looser with my colors and had more fun with my art and that is priceless."
— Artist Julie Brown

"I loved this week. It has been such a blessing every day!
I have been out of painting for a while and it has always been my passion so being able to have such an inspiring environment with such a warm group of people that inspire each other and support each other. I've learned so many techniques. I feel so inspired and energized! Thank you so much for everything!"
