Preparing for an art fair is an exciting affair: there are parking passes to organize, paintings to paint, series to think about, signs to print, and so on. The list is long and detailed, and I have no idea how the people who organize such events keep it all together!
In any case, I have been thinking about The Artist Project for the past year, but now that we are in the last month, things are becoming a bit manic: I have just returned from a month of painting in Mexico, as well as a long weekend in Southern California (where I visited the offices of Saatchi Art, and gave a presentation!). I have a few short weeks to wrap my head around last-minute details.
Most recently, I just finished my ad layout, for Slate Art Gallery Guide. What do you think of it? I chose to use a cropped image: a part of one of my paintings that I think shows how I love to play with colour, in my typical messy way.
While I'm on the topic, if you're in the neighbourhood during the show, please do stop into The Artist Project and say hi to me!
