Visiting artist at URBN Headquarters in Philadelphia

I was invited to be the April 2019 visiting artist at URBN Headquarters, in Philadelphia. It was a great honour for me, and a way for me to reconnect with one of the great supporters of my career as an artist. My exhibition was called Halcyon Days, and it ran for the entire month. I was delighted.

You see, URBN is the mother ship for companies such as Urban Outfitters, Free People, Terrain, and Anthropologie. I have a long-standing relationship with the latter, having designed many pieces for Anthro over the years... Bags, scarves, a bedding collection, apparel, and more. It has always been such a pleasure to work with an organization that recognizes the value of creativity in society.

The URBN campus houses a number of buildings in an old navy yard. Everything feels larger than life there. And there is an air of authenticity. I spent the weekend in the navy yard, enjoying my walks down the quai and along the boardwalk. I saw deer and magnolia trees, and fishermen trying their luck on the dock. It was early April, and the light had the first hint of spring in it, and I could smell the freshness of the air, in the City of Brotherly Love.
