Selling paintings to help hurricane victims

The strongest storm ever recorded in the Atlantic, Hurricane Irma, a Category 5 storm, swept through the Lesser Antilles, in the Caribbean island chain, on September 6, 2017. In the wake of its fury, remained only a path of destruction: the Category 5, 180mph (290kph) winds levelled houses and businesses, toppled cars and trees, tearing up the landscape. People lost their jobs and their homes, and in some cases, their lives. Two weeks later, this force of nature was followed by another Category 5 hurricane, Maria. Whatever had not been lost in the first round, was subsequently destroyed.

I, like many others, want to lend a helping hand so that the people in the hardest hit areas can get back on their feet again.

It is for this reason that I decided to paint a series of three paintings. I pledged to give 100% of the money raised from the sale of these paintings to help victims in the hardest hit areas. I researched the most needy recipients, and provided a list of possible recipients that the collector of said paintings could then choose from.

I'm pleased to report that all three paintings are SOLD! The kind collector asked that the $2700 USD (the total sale price of the three pieces) go toward helping to rebuild the island of St. Martin.

Hopefully, I can make a difference in the lives of some, if only a small one.
