I have the honour of being invited to be April's visiting artist, and show a collection of some of my newer my paintings, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvannia, at the URBN campus! The exhibition will be 4 weeks long, starting on April 1, 2019.
I’m inspired and intrigued by the human condition that includes the never-ending quest for contentedness, joy, and a sense of completion. We all seek it out, and even when it is discovered, it can be fickle and elusive. What do we need to find and maintain new delights that will continue to inspire us? Life’s muses are personal, and can either feed (or deplete) one’s capacity to experience joy.
The exhibition will comprise mainly of pieces from two of my painting series: Holiday Everyday, and the Halcyon series. The styles and the concepts behind these two series complement one another: both are inspired by the quest for joy, and I try to express that by my choice of happy #colours.
